Controls need a bigger size. It wont let me restart the level and oil zone is way too hard!!!!!

Thank you Sega for allowing Christian Whitehead to produce this awesomely creative remaster! The graphics, sound and gameplay remind me of the first time I played Sonic 2. One minor thing is that when you duck in the act 2 boss the water doesnt bounce off sonics head. But pure awesomeness is packed into this game.

I bough this this awesome game and I was waitting so hard for that update (to save levels) !! Thanks SEGA !!

There should be a difficulty setting because I cant get past level 4. Its just sad. I would play more but no. Is too hard for non-hardcore players.

I love sonic and am super disappointed at the controls of this game. How do you seriously properly play this with such awful controls.

Everyone, please do not base your reviews on wether or not you can beat its difficulty, this is a great game that deserves everyones attention. And lets face it, retro games are not always a walk in the park when it comes to difficulty

This game is loving me more than minecraft!!!!!

This game rocks. The only thing I wish was that it was a direct port, not removing the sound test and ability to activate cheats. Additionally, I have three main gripes: 1) the special stage. I was used to the old version, and with the new perspective and graphical tweaks my abilities have been thrown off. Worst issue I have. I managed to beat it, but only with Knuckles so far. 2) during boss attack, I noticed a bugged spot at the side of the screen in the hill top zone part. If you have the misfortune to fall into the lava, you expect to lose your rings but otherwise survive if youre fast enough, right? Here, you can fall into the platforms side and its treated like a bottomless pit or crush thing. Its a big problem. 3) a minor irritation: Hidden Palace zone doesnt have its original intended music, which was on the cartridge. What it has is Mystic Caverns 2P music, which doesnt fit very good and irritates me. When playing such a historically momentous thing (first time ever aside from mods), you should have original intentions wholly there.

But the controls for this one are terrible. 5 stars for the great port of a great classic game, -2 stars for the very difficult controls that make playability low.

Maybe you should turn down the difficulty a lot on end boss cause its so hard I cant get past metal sonic to fight the death egg robo

Very good I love it, it crashes some times but very good Im stuck at metropolis zone act3 I got to robotnik and died :( its super good Im love sonic so so so so so much hes my favourite video game person bye!!

I am really waiting on sega to make sonic 3 for ios.

I would like to see more Sonic games out there, like Sonic 3
